There are new boots galore at SoccerBible this week, as Nike continue to roll out new colourways across all of their boot ranges. Already we've seen the synthetic Grey/Red/Black Nike T90 Laser IV football boots, so now it's time to take a look at the new Kanga-Lite offering in this Red/White/Anthracite colourway.
One glance at these boots and the names Wayne Rooney and Alexandre Pato spring to mind. The Red/White/Anthracite versions are only the fourth colourway of the T90 Laser IV, but are probably the sharpest looking boots to-date, and are such a strong colourway for Nike's lead players.
Built to deliver 'the perfect strike', the new Nike T90 Laser IV has been redesigned to offer ultimate precision and power. From the early days of the first T90 Laser, Nike's power boot has fast become a key weapon for some of Europe’s deadliest players. Wayne Rooney, Fernando Torres, Wesley Sneijder, Gonzalo Higuain and Rio Ferdinand all headline a player roster that highlights the boots versatility.
Visually, the Laser IV may create initial divide, but they've been given the SoccerBible thumbs-up! The T90 Laser IV takes note from the Superfly III, with visual emphasis strongly placed on the instep of the boot. Whilst the use of Kanga-Lite has been taken from the performance of the CTR360 range, which to anyone who's worn the boots will agree, is a comfortable and responsive upper.
To the surprise of many, Nike have released the T90 Laser IV football boots without an Elite series. The Nike T90 Laser IV soccer cleats feature a standard sole-plate with a TPU bladed stud arrangement – that's right, no carbon fibre sole-plate! Even so, the new Nike T90 Laser IV is an astonishing 50g lighter than its former self at just 270g – just 5g heavier than the Laser III Elite!
Each evolution of the Total 90 range has seen unique design enhancements to the boots signature feature. The new Nike T90 Laser IV adaptive shot shield technology is divided into 'Power' and 'Swerve' zones. Key contact zones are broken into strips surrounded by shape correcting foam, while Fins reduced in size and height offer a more powerful and natural ball feel. Both zones are designed to flex naturally with ball contact, allowing natural movement of the foot.
The new TPU stud arrangement combines with toe and heel secondary traction. This design allows for superior structural reinforcement and traction on wet and soft ground pitches. A moulded-EVA sock-liner provides the necessary work required to reduce stud pressure and increase on-field comfort. As well as cushioning and support, the moulded-EVA sock-liner also provides the boots with a contoured arch and heel support, whilst Poron inserts reduce stud pressure.
Europe’s top leagues are in full swing and the new Nike T90 Laser IV football boots have already seen strong performances, particularly from the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Wayne Rooney.
A significant milestone in the evolution of the T90 range, the
Nike Laser's fourth instalment is one of the most exciting yet! And this strong Red/White/Anthracite colourway is set to allow players and fans to show their allegiance to their club colours, whether it's Manchester United, Liverpool, AC Milan, Arsenal or Bayern Munich.
Expect the boots to have an on-pitch presence from the weekend of 17th December, as they've already gone on pre-sale. The
full retail launch is on 6th January, with the Nike T90 Laser IV priced at £140 GBP / $200 USD / €160 EURO.
