Supporting act to the Superfly (and not a bad one at that!), the Mercurial Vapor VII has also been released in this White/Blue/Volt colourway. Quite toned down in comparison to the Purple/Silver Vapor VII football boots, Nike are getting ready to kick-off 2012 with a pitch invasion of new boot colours...
The Nike Mercurial Vapor 7 football boots may not boast Flywire technology or NikeSense studs, but many Mercurial fans actually prefer the Vapor to the Superfly. You certainly don't miss out on any of the eccentric colour-schemes, and let's not forget that for a long period the Vapor carried the mantle of being the Mercurial ranges' top-end boot.
Of all boot ranges, it's the Nike Mercurial that time again produces some of the most eccentric and memorable colour-schemes, which is perhaps one of the reasons they have such a cult following! These White/Blue/Volt versions may not be the most eye-catching but we expect them to be a popular choice, and whether it's Neymar, Robinho, Alexis Sanchez or Pedro, Vapor's have their reputation because they are designed for speed.
The new White/Blue/Volt Nike Vapor VII soccer shoes are set to take the spotlight and ignite the boot world once again, in a time when it seems the rivalry between adidas and Nike has never been fiercer! This colourway will standout on-pitch and is nothing short of what we've come to expect - a bold
design that won't shy away from the cameras. And with an eventual redesign in line for Euro 2012, this new colourway is sure to make an impression by distinguishing itself from
previous designs.
No other football boot screams speed quite like the Nike Mercurial range. The new volt lightning bolt stands-out to serve Nike's claims of enhancing on-pitch visibility, unlike the slightly toned down purple versions which match the main upper of the boot.
The Tepex glass-fibre chassis, that has become a Vapor favourite and looks especially cool in the SG editions with the slightly tinted outsole, brings you close to the Vapor's enhanced traction elements. The Vapor Traction II design means the forefoot FG studs are shaped to offer multi-directional traction, with central arms for acceleration/deceleration and optimal sprint traction. On the SG versions you once again have the Mercurial studs, but with the addition of the toe-off grip for enhanced acceleration.
The new White/Blue/Volt upper of the Mercurial Vapor VII is constructed from the same Teijin micro-fibre that is designed to improve comfort, flexibility and help a players touch. The upper is enhanced with specifically placed 'ball-control coating' on the lateral forefoot, to aid control of the ball at top speed.
The Vapor 7's FG sole-plate includes the same direct injected studs that incorporates 8 cored-out studs to provide a dramatic 12% weight reduction whilst enhancing strength and durability. Acceleration and sprinting is further enhanced by concentrated forefoot zonal spikes, inspired by tracks spikes to optimise grip at toe-off for an extra burst of speed, giving you an advantage over the opposition.
You will be able to get your hands on a pair of the new White/Blue/Volt Nike Mercurial Vapor VII football boots from January 1st. Expect to see Nike's latest colourway on pitch from this weekend (17.12.11). The boots will retail worldwide for around £150 GBP / $240 USD / €170 EURO.
