The Nike T90 Laser III is quite an interesting proposition in the football boots world. Many brands share the principle of power, swerve and accuracy performance, but few execute it quite like Nike and the Total 90 range. Incorporate with this the natural kangaroo leather, and what you have is one of the most interesting boots on the market.
Whether to opt for the synthetic or leather versions of the Nike T90 Laser III football boots is an issue that divides amateur and professional players alike, so whilst Wayne Rooney, Wesley Sneijder and Gonzalo Higuain opt for the synthetics, Fernando Torres prefers to wear K leather.
But what are the benefits of wearing the K leather versions? Well, the density of the natural fibres in the kangaroo leather provides an excellent touch and feel of the ball, and it's softness will ply itself to the shape of the foot. This combines with the Total 90 technology of the ShotShield which features both pods and fins.
The ShotShield on the Laser III soccer shoes has been divided into two zones. The first zone maintains an even pressure on the ball at impact for accuracy, which is through the five flat longitudinal and flexible Instep Pods.
The second zone creates friction and increased ball spin for shooting and passing. This comes from a number of strategically angled and raised Fins, with each fin positioned at a different angle and a different height (0-3mm) to control the swerve of the ball.
Comfort and fit comes from the moulded sockliner with Poron inserts incorporated for extra cushioning, while the surface texture of the sockliner and boot collar combine to prevent the foot from slipping within the boot due to it's suede-like texture.
The K leather versions of the Nike T90 Laser III soccer cleats also benefit from a lightweight TPU outsole, with studs positioned to give structural reinforcement and traction across firm ground pitches. The redesigned heel counter provides support and stability with good heel lock, and helps the planting foot to stabilise when kicking the ball.
The White/Challenge Red/Black K Leather Nike Total 90 Laser III football boots are a subtle addition to the range, which retain the classy look of a leather boot, especially with the embossed T90 on the heel. Available to pre-order now ahead of a 1st July release, you can expect to pay around £130 GBP / $200 USD / €155 EURO, so you don't even need to pay any extra for the leather upper!
