Unveiling the fifth installment of the Nike Tiempo Legend Elite football boots, one of the most interesting boots on the market, combining heritage and touch performance with a carbon fibre outsole! Check out the SoccerBible's full and exclusive photography of the new Team Red/Metallic Silver Tiempo Legend Elite football boots...
Continuing the new football boots here on the SoccerBible, is our full and exclusive reveal of the Nike Tiempo Elite football boots in team red/metallic silver which is sure to cause plenty of debate amongst the Tiempo faithful.
Nike's Elite series were some of the most highly anticipated football boots of 2010, and the intro colourways certainly caught everyone's attention at the World Cup. Since then though, it seems attention for the Tiempo Legend Elite's seems to have waned slightly as Nike continued to release less than striking colourways, but these Red/Silver editions could re-ignite people's attention to the range.
There's no denying the benefits the Elite versions offer, as their lightweight construction, intricate engineering and carbon-enforced strength take this boot to a new level. Being the pinnacle of Nike's Tiempo range is quite a mantle to carry, but combine the weight loss treatment with the expected ball touch and feel and you have the ingredients for a great boot.
There's sure to be a mixed reaction from Tiempo fans, but at least Nike have resisted the urge to release a lairy colourway. The Team Red upper is quite a stylish shade, whilst the Silver Swoosh is quite a classy addition. All complimented by the blacked out carbon-fiber chassis featuring retro Nike insignia.
To combine with the speed and lightweight sole-plate, Nike have re-engineered the upper of the Nike Elite Tiempo Legend soccer cleats. The Nike Tiempo is synonymous with ball touch and feel, but to maintain 'Elite' performance Nike have utilised their Kanga-Lite material, a proven material that fans of the CTR360 Maestri will testify to. The Kanga-Lite is a water-resistant synthetic that mimics the supreme ball feel and touch of kangaroo leather whilst maintaining performance in all conditions.
The concept of the Nike Elite Legend soccer shoes, is a result of Nike's extensive research and player testing. Their findings showed the average energy expenditure of an elite player is over 1,000 Kilo Calories per game for a 75kg player. Reducing the weight carried by players helps reduce the energy needed over the course of 90 minutes. By delivering a super-strong and lightweight carbon fibre plate, the Elite Nike Tiempo Legends are lighter than the standard boots to give players an edge in the decisive final stages of a game.
The Nike Elite football boots are providing new levels of performance, and the Nike Elite Tiempo Legend football boots are a testament to this. We'll be looking to see if the likes of Gerard Pique, Raul Meireles, Andrea Pirlo and Joe Cole sport these new Team Red/Metallic Silver Nike Elite Tiempo Legend football boots.
The new Team Red/Metallic Silver Nike Tiempo Legend III football boots are
available to pre-order now ahead of a 1st April release, and are
expected to retail for around £200 GBP/ $275 USD / €240 EURO / ¥26300 JPY.
The Nike Tiempo series may not be as high profile as the Mercurial or Total 90, but they are a longest running boot so surely we can expect a bit of debate about these latest editions...
