Unveiling the next colourway for Nike's supercharged Total 90 Laser Elite Series football boots, designed and engineered to provide new levels of performance. The SoccerBible is your first stop for full and exclusive images, along with all the tech info...
The White/Black/Clorine Blue Nike T90 Laser Elite football boots are probably the most 'up beat' release in the range with an almost pop art design adoring the heel of the boot. But underneath the brightly coloured upper is a genuine performance boot.
The result of extensive research and player testing, the Nike T90 Laser Elite football boots feature lightweight construction, intricate engineering and
carbon-enforced strength for superior performance.
The obvious feature that sets the Elite versions apart from the standard versions is the carbon fibre sole-plate. Which since it's introduction on the Mercurial SL football boots have been a seemingly popular addition to Nike boots. Another feature distinguishing the Elite T90 Laser soccer cleats is the redesigned heel counter, integrated into the upper for reduced weight and aesthetic purposes.
The major advancement the Laser III's brought to the Total 90 range has been the development of the ShotShield technology, ensuring even pressure on the ball at impact for accuracy. The Instep Pods are designed to be flat to your foot, to create even pressure distribution when shooting the ball with accuracy, and their longitudinal and flexible design accommodates an enlarged kicking area.
Complimenting the Instep Pods are strategically angled and raised Fins, to create friction and increased ball spin for
shooting and passing. Each fin is positioned at a different angle and a
different height ( between 0-3mm), to enable the player to control the
swerve of the ball in multi-directional ways depending on how the
ball is kicked.
The upper material is a combination of lightweight Teijin
synthetic leather, and Nike's Kanga-lite material. Around the toe area of the boots is a layer of shape correction foam,
this thin layer of Memory Foam is strategically placed over the first
metatarsal and tongue area to help even out the instep bone structure
for better kicking accuracy.
To get all technical, the inspiration for the Elite range of Nike boots comes from research showing
the average energy expenditure of an elite player is over 1,000 Kilo
Calories per game for a 75kg player. Reducing the weight carried by
players helps reduce the energy needed over the course of 90 minutes. By
delivering a super-strong and lightweight carbon fibre plate, the T90
Laser III Elites are lighter to give the player an edge in the final
stages of a game.
The new Nike T90 Laser Elite soccer shoes are available to pre-order now ahead of a 1st April release, and they are expected to retail for around £250 GBP/ $325 USD / €300 EURO / ¥32800 JPY.
