If the release of the new Nike Superfly III football boots wasn't enough for you, we can now exclusively unveil the brand new Nike Vapor 7 football boots! A very highly anticipated boot release, the new Nike Vapor 7 boots shows just how far the Vapor range has come...
The next generation Vapor boots have arrived and are one of the most unique yet. Unsuprisingly, the new Superfly III boots have been dominating the headlines, but now it's time to take a look at the boot that paved the way for the Mercurial Superfly - the original Nike Speed boot!
The Nike Mercurial Vapor boot range has an army of loyal fans unlike any other boot out there. We can now show you what Nike's 7th generation Vapor boots have to offer. Check out our exclusive imagery of the new Nike Mercurial Vapor 7 football boots as we take you through all you need to know!
So how is the Nike Mercurial Vapor 7 changed? Visually, the new Vapor football boots have undergone the same new paint work as the Superfly III boots and now feature the updated asymmetric, fluorescent lightning bolt design on the heel and inside of the boot. The new Vapor 7 soccer shoes are Nike's most visible Vapor yet.
Designed to 'put players in the spotlight', the new pattern has been created to enhance visibility to your teammates! The new striking pattern is designed to decrease team-mates decision making time by making it easier for him to spot you on the field. The ultimate aim is to create a faster pass rate to strikers and wingers.
One of the key differences of the new Nike Vapor 7 football boots is the removal of the lace-cover. The lace-cover, that has featured on the Vapor series since the iconic Mercurial Vapor IV, has been removed by Nike and is no longer one of the key distinguishing features that separates it from its Superfly relation.
If you're thinking the new Mercurial Vapor 7 football boots look more streamlined, then you'd be correct. Nike have altered the construction of the toe box by lowering it for better ball contact.
As far as changes go, that's about it! The upper is constructed from the same Tejin micro-fibre that is designed to improve comfort, flexibility and help a players touch. The upper is enhanced with specifically placed 'ball-control coating' on the lateral forefoot, to aid control of the ball at top speed.
One of the Vapor's stand-out features is still present on the Nike Vapor 7 football boots. The Tepex glass-fibre chassis, that has become a Vapor favourite, brings you close to the Vapor's enhanced traction elements. The Vapor Traction II design means the forefoot studs are shaped to offer multi-directional traction, with central arms for acceleration/deceleration and optimal sprint traction.
The Vapor 7's sole-plate includes the same direct injected studs that incorporates 8 cored-out studs to provide a dramatic 12% weight reduction whilst enhancing strength and durability. Acceleration and sprinting is further enhanced by concentrated forefoot zonal spikes, inspired by tracks spikes to optimise grip at toe-off for an extra burst of speed, giving you an advantage over the opposition.
The new Vapor 7 football boots have been designed to cope with the rigours of the modern game. With that in mind, the new Vapor football boots tip the scales at 230grams (US size 9). No weight has been lost from the previous Vapor VI model but the Vapor boots still sit comfortably in the lightweight category.
Nike have lowered the price of the new Vapor 7 football boots. Previously set at £180, Nike have slashed the price to £150/$240/€170 (£125 cheaper than the Mercurial Superfly III football boots!). With the Vapor 7 now priced at a relatively reasonable £150, the boot sits more in line with its rival speed boots.
The new Nike Mercurial Vapor 7 football boots will come in both the Plum Red/White/Neon and Blue/Platinum/Orange colour-ways. Like the look of the new Vapor 7 boots? They will be available to pre-order from 17 March for an April 1st release.
The new Nike Vapor 7 soccer shoes joins Nike's famous Vapor series as the 7th incarnation of the 'original speed boot'. How do you think the new boots compare to previous Vapor models?
