Nike have unveiled their supercharged Elite Series football boots, designed and engineered to provide new levels of performance. The SoccerBible is your first stop for full and exclusive images of the Nike Elite T90 Laser III football boots...
The Nike Elite T90 Laser III football boots are truly a stunning boot, both visually and in-hand. Set to be championed by Wayne Rooney at this summer's World Cup, the Elite Total 90's are almost a hybrid boot as they combine Laser technology and materials with the Vapor series!
Nike have dedicated themselves to improving player performance, through extensive research and player testing to create the Nike Elite football boots. Lightweight construction, intricate engineering, carbon-enforced strength and high contrast colors distinguish the Elite's as superior performance footwear.
The combination of a re-engineered sole-plate and upper has resulted in the Elite Nike T90 Laser III football boots, weighing in at 16% lighter than the standard boots. The upper incorporates Vapor materials with high contrast Metallic Mach Purple and Total Orange colours, engineered together for enhanced performance and visibility.
For a footballer this unique colour combination is designed to increase visual performance, enabling them to quickly spot their teammates and execute a game-changing pass. Nike have found that an average person’s vision is 99% peripheral, under 1% is considered focused vision. To spark increased focus of peripheral vision the colourway of the Elite boot triggers a stimulus to rapidly tune peripheral vision.
For the Nike Elite Laser football boots Nike have retained their ShotShield technolgy, to ensure even pressure on the ball at impact for accuracy. The Instep Pods are designed to be flat to your foot, to create even pressure distribution when shooting the ball with accuracy, and their longitudinal and flexible design accommodates an enlarged kicking area.
Complimenting the Instep Pods are strategically angled and raised Fins, to create friction and increased ball spin for shooting and passing. Each fin is positioned at a different angle and a different height (0-3mm), to enable the player to control the swerve ball in multi-directional ways depending on how the player kicks the ball, for better ball spin and kicking accuracy.
Nike research shows the average energy expenditure of an elite player is over 1,000 Kilo Calories per game for a 75kg player. Reducing the weight carried by players helps reduce the energy needed over the course of 90 minutes.
By delivering a super-strong and lightweight carbon fibre plate, the T90 Laser III Elites are 16% lighter to give the player an edge in the final stages of a game.
We anticipate the Nike Elite T90 Laser III football boots will be a hugely popular choice from the Nike Elite Series. Expected to be available from 22nd May and worn by the likes of Wayne Rooney, Fernando Torres and Wesley Snijder at this summer's World Cup, the Elite Nike Laser football boots are a truly innovative piece of football engineering from Nike.
The major downside? You might have to start saving now, as these Elite edition of the T90 Laser III football boots will retail around £250 GBP a pair when they hit selected retailers and Nike stores.
