Here's the second colourway of the brand new Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots, a sharper more clinical looking White/Del Sol/Black...
The Nike CTR360's are a revolutionary football boot designed to take ball control to the next level! And it's a bold move from Nike to break away from their three successful ranges; the Legend, Laser and Vapor. But clearly they feel that ball touch and control is an area that modern football boots fail to deliver to their full potential.
The first interesting point about the Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots is that the upper is made from a synthetic material. The Kanga Light material gives a similar feel to natural leather, and like a leather will form to the foot whilst retaining its strength. Nike have also stated the material absorbs 20% less water than a natural leather, so the boot will remain lightweight in wet conditions.
The next striking feature of the Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots is the stand-out dampening pods. The basic theory behind the pods is that their cushioning properties will improve ball control, whilst passing will be more direct and accurate due to the pods forming around the ball when struck.
The pods are made from a shape-correcting memory foam, and although obviously you'd need a super slow-motion camera to catch this in action, it is an innovative piece of technology that Nike have tested alongside some of the best players in the world including Cesc Fabregas, and these boots certainly do fill you with confidence when passing.
The boots feel comfortable on thanks to the padded boot collar and cushioned sockliner, which has Poron (performance urethane) inserts strategically placed to help reduce stud pressure. The Nike CTR360 Maestri begins with a central lacing system, which veers off-centre to allow for the lateral forefoot dampening pods, and tucks the laces away to increase the ball control surface.
The Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots are available in both a firm ground and soft ground sole-plate. Unfortunately, the soft ground sole-plate is overlooked for technical advancement to concentrate on raw performance, but the firm ground sole-plate is pioneering. Featuring dual-density studs at the fore of the boot for excellent ball grip and trap control, and then at the heel the studs are sharper and stronger to lock down the planted foot whilst the other controls or passes the ball.
One of the big pulling points for getting the Nike CTR360 Maestri football boots, is that they are part of Nike's strive to improve footballers around the world. Nike footballs' aim is for players of all levels to get the
ultimate training experience, allowing them to become
a better footballer. Which is why when you receive your new CTR360 football boots, you will receive a unique Nike code specific to your boots, unlocking exclusive programs from the world's best players and coaches, incorporating modern iPhone and PC technology!
We think the Nike CTR360 Maestri's are a great football boot, as they promise performance and deliver thanks to not over-complicating their technology. Nike understand that ball control and quick accurate passing are key elements to winning a game and have built a boot around those basic principles. This second colourway is available for pre-order now ahead of a 3rd October release, and they are a classy addition to what seems to be a unique new boot range.
