One of football's most exciting boot ranges - the Nike Mercurial Vapor, have unveiled a brand new colourway! We've had a good look at the latest installment, the brand new Platinum/Hot Red Nike Mercurial Vapor V football boots...
In the world of football boots the Nike Mercurial Vapor is a very popular boot choice, as they are cutting edge for design and innovation, and can boast such wearers as Cristiano Ronaldo, Franck Ribery, Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic!
Ultimately designed for speed, the Nike Mercurial Vapor V football boots have a sleek aerodynamic design and are lightweight at just 230g. Which becomes noticeable once you try them on, as you really do have to remind yourself you are wearing a pair of football boots!
The advancement Nike have made with the Vapor V football boots has been the introduction of their Flywire technology. This can be seen in the picture above, as it acts like the cables of a suspension bridge to support the feet and add additional strength to the material.
A popular feature of the Nike Mercurial Vapor IV football boots was the lace cover, which has been retained for the Vapor V football boots. This provides a clean and improved striking area, which the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo have been taking full advantage for excellent boot-to-ball contact.
To improve player speed Nike have designed their unique traction sole-plate for the firm ground version of the Nike Vapor V football boots. The design gets the most effective grip between the boots and the playing surface to enhance both speed and movement, and following player feedback from Didier Drogba and other players the Vapor V has had an additional stud added to the in-step area.
The main upper is made from a one-piece material to improve the boots surface, so there aren't any stitching seams apart from where the upper is fixed at the heel. The heel area also features an internal heel counter offering stability and protection from the defenders trying to chop at your heels as you leave them in your wake!
These inspirational football boots are expected to retail around £130 GBP, and are currently available for pre-order ahead of a 1st July release.
