The Monarcida lands as a premium Mizuno product with a price-tag of £200, now bear with us while we try to justify that. The Monarcida is the latest addition to Mizuno's 'Made in Japan' collection which means it is lasted for 24 hours (it takes 20 minutes to make a standard boot) to take comfort and fit to the next level. The upper is leather in the vamp area with an abrasive sand-paper like print layer to the toe area for increased durability. The side quarters are made from a synthetic material to hold the foot in place and to keep weight to a minimum.
Internally, the collar lining is synthetic as is the tongue compared to a suede leather used on the same parts on the Neo. The Monarcida uses the same moulded multi-stud pattern soleplate that holds 13 specifically positioned PU studs for flexibility and support.
The Mizuno Monarcida is available from selected online stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. First thoughts on the Monarcida? Let us know.
