Currently ninth in La Liga and top of their Europa League group, things are starting to take shape for Valencia as they head into the second half of the season. We met up with two of Valencia's Brazilian players; striker Jonas and goalkeeper Diego Alves to talk about their boot of choice - the Morelia Neo - life at Valencia and next year's World Cup.
Striker Jonas, who's been wearing the Morelia Neo since last season, has netted eight times for Valencia this campaign, including an incredible 8-minute hat-trick against Osasuna. For the forward, the "leather and also the lightness" are what makes the Morelia Neo the ideal boot. "The leather is different from other boots and it's very comfortable to play a match for 90 minutes."
The Valencia forward has played eight times for the Brazilian national team and is confident his country can win their sixth World Cup next summer. When it comes to which Brazilians he enjoys watching, there's one obvious stand-out player. "In today's football, Neymar. He has all the potential to be one of the best. He does things that practically no-one does."
Jonas and Diego Alves, Valencia's Brazilian goalkeeper, both lace up in the Morelia Neo. Speed boots aren't often seen on the feet of a keeper but Alves cites their quality and comfort as his reasons for choosing the boots "They are made from a different leather from the rest, your feet feel really comfortable, as if you were wearing nothing."
Goalkeepers are generally a breed apart and it seems that Alves was destined for the position from a young age. "I always loved to play football as a boy, but always at the goalposts. I was always jumping around playing with my brother and I always loved watching the goalkeepers."
