Mizuno have launched their new Wave Ignitus 3 in two colourways, the vibrant bolt paint job and this more toned down Silver/Black/Autumn Glory colour combo. Plastered with new technology, the Ignitus 3 is Japanese innovation at its finest.
When we think of Mizuno we think quality football boots that are designed with no expense spared. Throughout all their silos Mizuno's boots always look class and more importantly are always impressively durable. The Bolt/Black/Blue/Red colourway is a typical vibrant Ignitus release but it's this Silver/Orange design that we're all over.
The unique selling point on the Wave Ignitus is the Mukaiten panel, which is designed to produce an unpredictable flight path when striking the ball. Mizuno have re-jigged their trademark panel and they've told us that the Mukaiten tech on the Ignitus 3 creates even deadlier 'non spin' movement, making it a nightmare for keepers to judge the shot with the ball dipping and swerving as it approaches goal.
The third generation Ignitus 3 features a premium lightweight synthetic upper, which knocks the weight down a by a few grams in comparison to its older brothers. As you can see the instep packs some serious shooting armoury, the top of the foot is layered with a smooth panel called the Tatekaiten vamp which increases top spin when striking the ball and further along the boot the vamp becomes more rigid for extra spin when curling the ball, labelled as the Yokokaiten panel.
More minor improvements have been made to the heel of the Ignitus, extra cushioning has been added which cradles the heel to improve comfort and stability. The sole of the boot has also been re-worked to maximise traction whilst reducing the stud pressure on the soles of your feet on hard ground.
Visuals wise the Wave Ignitus 3 has been brushed up with the complete colour takeover on the shooting technology compared to the second generation Ignitus. The Ignitus has always been a unique looking boot in the market, it's split personality of simplicity on the outstep and innovation on the instep creates a mean looking boot that carries some impressive weaponry when it comes to shooting.
The new Silver/Black/Autumn Glory Mizuno Wave Ignitus 3 football boots are available to pre-order now at selected online retailers including Pro-Direct Soccer. Thoughts on the new colourway? Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
