The new Blue/White/Blue Mizuno Wave Ignitus II soccer shoes might look familiar to SoccerBible regulars. Two months after Japanese superstar Keisuke Honda was spotted play testing the new boots, SoccerBible can bring you the full reveal of Mizuno's latest addition to the boot market!
For the new Mizuno Ignitus II football boots, the focus is once again on the Mukaiten panel. An innovative piece of technology unique and exclusive to Mizuno which has been proven to aid the performance of such wearers as Keisuke Honda.
The word 'Mukaiten' simply means "no spin", so the strategically placed panel on the instep of the boot is engineered to give the ball an unpredictable flight path - intended to confuse and fool the opposition and goalkeeper.
The Mukaiten panel is wrapped around by the 360 degree Bio Vamps, re-designed for the Ignitus II soccer shoes. The more aggressive panels generate increased friction and control at ball contact, and have been integrated into a new lacing system which enlarges the striking area. As the panels continue to spread over the instep and forefoot, the Ignitus II offers enhanced control and power.
The upper of the Mizuno Wave Ignitus II is made from a soft K-leather material which has been re-constructed specifically for the Ignitus. Touch and feel - two more Mizuno hallmarks - are further enhanced with this soft upper and you'll be surprised how light the boot feels.
As we've mentioned already, Mizuno are famous for their fit and comfort - and the incorporation of Wave technology in the Mizuno Wave Ignitus II soccer shoes only further adds to this notion. The Wave tech improves cushioning and stability in the outsole which combined with the bladed stud configuration delivers unrivalled traction.
The Wave Ignitus features a triple density heel counter, designed with the input and assistance of Japan's Keisuke Honda. The triple Pebax density heel counter offers improved fit, comfort and most importantly improves protection from serious injury.
The unique Mizuno sole-plate continues to be a stand out feature of the new Wave Ignitus II football boots. The split Carbon Fibre out-sole maintains the boots lightness while keeping it strong and flexible. As previously mentioned, the studs continue in the same legendary 'Wave' configuration format, which follows the ergonomic channels of the foot for maximum grip and comfort.
The new Blue/White/Blue Mizuno Wave Ignitus II football boots will retail worldwide for around £120 GBP / $190 USD / €185 EURO, and are expected to go on pre-sale this week ahead of a 23rd May release.
