The Lotto Stadio is one of the classic football boots to be found in the game, a benchmark of quality leather performance and craftsmanship. Now Lotto have released an update to their 2009 Stadio Fuoriclasse - the Fuoriclasse II football boots. Check out our exclusive reveal of the latest boot to bear the iconic name Stadio...
It's been two years since we saw the original Lotto Stadio Fuoriclasse, an incarnation of the classic Stadio range, and 'Fuoriclasse' is Italian for Champion. But with the arrival of the Fuoriclasse II football boots, there is the feeling that Lotto have created a leather boot that's more at home in the modern game, with sharp styling removing the fold-over tongue and adding some aggressive stitching.
Although Lotto seem to be overshadowed by the likes of adidas and Nike, their pedigree within the game speaks for itself. Their growing success started to attract famous names during the eighties such as Thomas Muster and Ruud Gullit, both sponsored by Lotto during the 1980s and 1990s. The Italian football star, Dino Zoff, wore Lotto football boots in 1982, and as their international growth developed rapidly during the 1990s, the company focus was upon improving the technical side of their products.
The soft ‘K’ leather used to make the Lotto Stadio Fuoriclasse II football boots retains that famous Italian comfort and flexibility. The upper is water-repellent, and as it's super soft K-Leather makes for excellent touch and ball feel, not to mention it continue the classic black and green styling.
The Stadio Fuoriclasse II soccer cleats outsole is stitched to the upper to increase the longevity of the boots, and Lotto have resisted the temptation to use their Twist'n'Go sole-plate, as used on the Zhero Gravity, Fuerzapura and Futura football boots. Instead, the Fuoriclasse utilises traditional conical fixed polyurethane studs to offer stability and traction on natural firm ground surfaces.
Lotto have however, incorporated their 'Puntoflex' technology in the outsole, a special technical device developed to allow the foot to flex correctly in the boots and give an excellent elastic return. Assisting quick acceleration, agility and movement in the Stadio Fuoriclasse II.
With a removable anatomical insole for comfort, the Lotto Stadio Fuoriclasse II soccer shoes integrate Lotto's Shock-Off inserted into the heel area, a shock absorbing material made of low density polyurethane. Designed to reduce the impact of the foot with the ground improving comfort whilst also reducing risk of injury.
For us, it's good news to see a next generation of Lotto Stadio. The previous incarnation was released two years ago, and with the new Stadio Fuoriclasse II football boots available to pre-order now and expected to be available from late-June, it's perhaps a time-frame that might suit some players. You can expect to pay around £110 GBP / $145 USD / €130 EURO for the latest Stadio 'Champion' football boots.
