As seen on the feet of Italian striker and Euro 2012 goalscorer Antonio Di Natale, Asics have upgraded their much heralded Lethal Tigreor football boots for a fifth generation. Despite being a more likely spot in Serie A and on Italian pitches, the Tigreor 5 is designed to enhance Asics' global appeal...
The Lethal Tigreor has over the years established itself as a strong premium performance boot. With new attributes and a striking set of colourways, Asics have upgraded their headline boot for the new season. The new Tigreor 5 is their most advanced boot yet, as they put a slightly different spin on boot development.
The Asics Lethal Tigreor 5 has been designed with player comfort, posture, form and performance in mind. Of course the upper is ultimately important, but Asics have invested a lot of time and development into their outsole as they look to harness peak performance from the wearer.
As expected from Asics, the upper has been crafted from combination Kangaroo and synthetic leathers which allow this boot to be lightweight, comfortable and breathable. At the forefoot, the last is shaped to be more lightweight, while at the rear the last enhances stability and durability.
These boots are constructed from a lighter weight midsole compound than Asics standard EVA and SpEVA. This Solyte 65 midsole provides a material for a firmer and more stable platform feel.
The Asics Lethal Tigreor 5 uses a 10mm heel gradient to shift body mass forward reducing strain on lower limbs and helping to reduce injury. This is quite a significant raise and goes against the principles of boots like the F50 adizero, Mercurial Vapor, evoSPEED and Morelia Neo, but is one that bio-mechanically Asics are pioneering as the player and feet are in a more prone position.
The stud configuration of the Lethal Tigreor 5 is another development unique to Asics, but the principles of which can be found on boots within the industry. The cluster of studs towards the fore are there for toe-off acceleration, whilst towards the heel is an additional stud as last seen on the v1.11 series. The midfoot of the sole-unit is also supported by ridged supports.
The Asics Lethal Tigreor 5 football boots will continue to be a popular choice for players looking to branch away from the mainstream boot brands. They continue to deliver advanced performance with a unique look that will certainly get you noticed.
Should you fancy something different for next season, they are available to order now from selected online stockists in both FG and SG plates. You'll be able to pick up a pair of the mid-priced Black/Green/White Asics Lethal Tigreor 5 football boots for around £100 GBP / $145 USD / €115 EURO.
