Having kicked off with the Mercury Pack before moving onto the EURO 2016 Speed of Light Pack and then Dark Space Pack, adidas have stayed up in the stars for the new Stellar Pack, inspired by the light side of the moon. Those metallic gold soleplates though, brighter than our future. Both the ACE 16+ PURECONTROL and X 16+ PURECHAOS adopt white uppers with black adidas branding to blend crisp simplicity with a fist of stunning premium punch.
Arriving on pitch from September 27, the Stellar Pack will be worn by adidas Champions League players in gameweek two. A smart Real Madrid themed design for Gareth Bale springs to mind but you can also expect Luis Suarez, Mesut Ozil and all your usual adidas suspects to slip into the Stellar Pack next week. It's a Champions League debut for the Stellar Pack but not an exclusive – you'll be seeing them in the Europa League and in domestic action the following weekend. Adidas are covering all bases with the Stellar Pack, with the white/gold/black combo becoming the next official on pitch colourway.
A version of the signature Champions League stars appear on the lace cover of the X 16+ PURECHAOS, much in the same way adidas used to release a Champions League edition Predator. Tech wise you're looking at the same boots. The ACE boasting its laceless feature and Primeknit upper, and the X using its Purecut Sock System and Non-Stop Grip featuring on the updated star design. Two Stellars and a packet of crisps, please. Cheers.
Want a pair? Get them here from September 30.
