Having launched the new Real Madrid home and away kits for the forthcoming 16/17 season, adidas utilised the power of support to kick off a social media launch that spanned the globe and involved many a famous face.
In a first for the club, players sent new shirts to famous fans in Australia, Japan, France, Spain, Brazil, the U.S. and Mexico. This included Madrid supporters, freestylers, musicians, actors and YouTubers from across the globe. Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, James Rodriguez, Marcelo, Kaylor Navas and manager Zinedine Zidane were all involved in this campaign too which aimed to strengthen the connection between the club and its worldwide fan base. It's a change to the regular stadium launch and has been wrapped up in the handy video you can see above.
The film finishes with Afro Trap pioneer, MHD, unboxing his kit (Which Karim Benzema sent his way) before breaking out into a Real Madrid rendition of his famous track 'Afro Trap Part 3 - Champions League'. As well as MHD, the Real Madrid players are also on hand, unboxing up the new home kit which they each signed and sent off tightly sealed to famous fans including: Michael Davies and Roger Bennett, hosts of Men In Blazers on NBC Sports; comedian Demis Karibidis; Brazilian YouTube stars Desimpedidos; Japanese Freestyler Takura; and Nathan Fyfe, a professional Australian Rules player. A whole selection of names invited to this party, it's a smart way to hit all four corners of the globe.
