Kicking off a year of tributes dedicated to the shoe that started a movement, adidas have launched a new film challenging what it means to be a “Superstar”. In 1969 placing a rubber 'shell' on the toe of a shoe was a revolutionary thing, now the adidas Superstar boasts an unparalleled status form the courts to the corners. The old-school classic is an off-the-scale sneaker icon, not just because of its low-top, shell-toe design, but because of its massive impact across so many musical trends, cultures and tribes. The moody, black and white 90-second spot was directed by Karum Huu Do and shows David Beckham, Pharrell Williams, Rita Ora & Damian Lillard (US basketball player) offering their take on what a superstar is not.
