Twenty Years of Happy Hunting : Football Boots : Soccer Bible

This year was a showpiece event for adidas as they celebrated the 20th birthday of their most iconic boot. Inside SoccerBible Issue No.2 we look back at how the Predator's landmark year unfolded.

In 1994 football was revolutionised with the introduction of the adidas Predator, a boot that offered performance enhancing technology changing the way football boots would be designed. The past two decades have seen adidas chauffeur the boot on a revolutionary journey so the 20th birthday bash was always going to be a recipe for sheer brilliance.

For adidas the Predator Instinct was lighter than ever but the weight of expectation on such a landmark year was heavy. Adidas had spent years planning the celebration roll­out and it was the perfect opportunity to re­visit the history of the distinguished boot. As the World Cup approached, adidas introduced their debut Instinct model; the first of seventeen Predators to follow before the year was out. The year that followed allowed adidas to demonstrate their versatility and create a yearbook that is completely unrivaled in variation and history.
