Firing the World Cup countdown into overdrive, adidas have launched their brand new Carnaval Pack. Four incredible designs land across all silos to create a collection of boots inspired by the festival that draws millions of people to Brazil every year.
The Carnaval Pack features a blend of colours for each of its four main silos, which follow the colourways devised for the Samba pack in November. The Nitrocharge is an all pink boot with a stunning blue paving pattern on the heel. The Predator is all blue featuring a distinctive splash of green on the back. The 11pro is green with a striking orange patterned heel and the adizero F50 is all orange with vibrant pink details on the back.
The Carnaval Pack lands on the back of one of the most famous festival weekends in the world. Brazilians and tourists flocked to Rio de Janeiro over the weekend for one of the most recognised celebrations on the planet and adidas has taken inspiration from the feathers and ticker tape by producing a special collection of boots colourful enough to grace any stage.
All four silos feature a reflective treatment on the surface of the boot, which adidas say are designed to catch the light and spread it like Carnaval ticker tape on pitch. The feather design on the heel of each boot takes reference from the famous Carnaval costumes and completes each Brazilian inspired design.
Romain Girard, Designer, adidas Football said: "For the Carnaval Pack we wanted to make sure we brought all the freshness and excitement of the Brazilian Carnaval to the boots. Regardless of the individual features each boot has, they all connected together and were effectively part of a pack, and with the Carnaval pack we feel we have achieved this." Yep, they're quite something Romain.
The Carnaval Pack boots are due for an on pitch debut during Brazil’s friendly against South Africa on Wednesday 5th March. The friendly sees the previous World Cup hosts take on the next hosts and Oscar, Fernandinho and Marcelo are all scheduled to slip into the crazy new collection as adidas' mark the next stage of their World Cup 2014 countdown.
As far as boot packs go, the Carnaval collection is the most artistically impressive yet. Any group that has the ability to make the Samba Pack look, well, a bit plain is some achievement. The Carnaval Pack is the next phase of adidas' World Cup prepartions and will be worn by select adidas players up until the brand drop a new range for their players when the World Cup kicks off in June.
The new adidas Carnaval Pack football boots are available from selected stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. What do you think of the collection? Got a favourite? Let us know. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
