Liverpool striker Luis Suraez has been snapped testing a mystery adidas boot at the club's training base ahead of Liverpool's FA Cup tie against Arsenal. The striker's black-out boots appear to be a future model from the three-stripes and a boot that bears little resemblance to any of adidas' current silos.
The Premier League's top goalscorer has been an F50 regular this season, switching temporarily to the adidas Nitrocharge due to injury reasons. On first impression the boot falls into neither the F50 or Nitrocharge category. The profile is noticeably different to the F50 while there looks to be no trademark Nitrocharge EnergySling.
On the instep we can see three extended stripes that run to the base of the SprintFrame outsole while a textured pattern flows across the one-piece upper material. It's set to be a breakthrough couple of months for new boot launches, with heated rivals Nike and adidas both expected to deliver new innovations prior to the World Cup.
Adidas and Nike are both looking ahead to Brazil as the year's biggest battle ground. We're expecting to see a flurry of new innovations, special colourways and limited edition boots. Adidas seem to be testing new waters with this boot but exactly what they have lined up remains to be seen. Stick with us as we bring you more updates.
