Bayern Munich have announced that they will wear a unique and limited edition version of their 2013/14 home shirt on March 15th when they take on Bayer Leverkusen. The shirt will feature the names of each fan that purchases the jersey on pre-order with all profits donated to a German sports aid foundation called Deutsche Sporthilfe.
Nice idea from the European Champions, bringing the fans closer as well as raising a few Euros for a worthy cause. The shirt itself is the standard adidas home shirt but will feature two patches for fans names to be printed. The Sporthilfe logo on the front of the jersey will hold a first batch of names and a bigger rectangle on the back will host the rest.
The proceeds raised will be handed over to Deutcshe Sporthilfe who arrange funding for over 3,800 junior and elite athletes. The money raised will all athletes with the potential to compete in Rio 2016 the opportunity to train full time rather than mixing training with another job, therefore maximising the athletes ability and increasing chances of more Olympic medals for Germany.
The jersey features the Deutcshe Sporthilfe logo on the right sleeve, the Club World Cup logo on the centre of the chest as well as the traditional Bayern Munchen lettering and club slogan "Mia san mia" on the back of the shirt, which translates to "We are who we are." These images show what the shirt will look like once the names have been selected.
