The folks at adidas kick off 2014 by firing a double barreled assault of colour at their Predator LZ SL. The super light Predator has been splattered by a multi-coloured paint combination that lands against a black backdrop as adidas start the new year with a bang.
Released alongside the White/Silver/Slime editions the black upper provides the perfect canvas to project the splashes of colour. Each 'Lethal Zone' has been coloured in to create a boot that packs a unique visual effect to compliment an equally unique technological approach.
You know times have changed when a Predator can look like this. While not many of us would be caught wearing a pair, it's hard to knock the design. The product team at adidas have taken a detour from conventional boot design and created a futuristic number that's in a world of its own.
It's as you were with the tech aspects on the boot with all measures in place to keep the weight to a minimum. The SL features the same sprint frame sole plate as the F50 adizero while the SL rubber zones have been wielded directly on to a ultra-thin SprintSkin upper in place of the Hybridtouch material.
Another area that differs to the standard versions is the tongue, the SL has been issued with a tongue similar to the F50, it's slim and lightweight compared to the more padded tongue on the standard Predator.
For players who want the lightweight factor of the F50 combined with performance benefits of the Predator LZ, then the LZ SL is the perfect hybrid. The SL may be physically lighter but the price tag is a bit weightier than that of the standard issues, so if you're eyeing up a pair then you'll have to be prepared to part with an extra £60.
The new adidas Predator LZ SL football boots are available from selected stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. What do you think of the multi-coloured LZ SL? Let us know. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
