Launched as one fifth of the Samba Pack the pink Predator LZ is designed to celebrate the build up to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. An all pink upper is topped off with hi-vis laces and the Samba patterned tongue and insole to create a shockingly vibrant Predator.
It's a bold move by adidas to release their prestigious boot in such a daring colourway and feel free to shoot us right back down here, but... we reckon they actually look pretty decent. There. We said it. Before you close the page in a fit of anger let us explain - All five of the lethal zones are the same colour, ok, that colour is pink, but the consistency works combined with the crisp white stripes. The boot stands out, it's unique and will no doubt pack a strong on pitch presence.
For many, the adidas Predator is held as the ultimate football boot, players have become legends wearing it, the Predator is the benchmark of innovation and that has been proved in recent seasons with the landscape of the boot being re-worked and re-designed to adapt to the needs of the modern game.
The traditionalist will argue that a Predator should be black/white/red with a tongue and we get that, but change is exciting, it should be embraced and adidas have smashed down boundaries to deliver the unexpected.
Underneath that face full of pink make-up it's your usual Pred LZ tech - five 'Lethal Zones' to aid dribbling, first touch, shooting, passing and control. That's what the Predator is all about, it provides the necessary technology to benefit your game whilst offering optimal comfort, even if it is all wrapped up in a big beautiful bundle of pinkness. So, would we wear it? With a reinforced pair of shin pads and a helmet, why not.
The new adidas Predator LZ football boots are available to pre-order now from selected online stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. Feelin' the pink Pred? Let us know. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
