The Enlightened Pack dominated pitches in the Champions League this week with adidas lacing up their athletes in black out boots that reflected under the floodlights. After seeing them on pitch we've given the headline boot, the Predator LZ, the close up treatment to see what it's all about.
The Predator LZ, as with the rest of the Enlightened Pack, reflects to light. As you can see in the photos below where the top image was taken with the flash on and the bottom one with the flash off, the boot reacts to light, which makes for a unique look when playing under floodlights.
The black/reflective design is a world away from some of the more eccentric colourways found on the latest Predator range including a bold green launch paint job that split opinion. We've got a feeling these will be popular with the old school Pred fans who appreciate a more toned down vibe.
The Enlightened Predator LZ features all black Lethal Zones on the upper to adopt a low key vibe and offer the perfect backdrop to allow the reflective stripes, laces and logo to take centre stage. Other than the reflective technology it's as you were, with the Enlightened Pred featuring all the Predator goodness found on the current LZ model.
Spec-wise, the adidas Predator LZ is the second evolution of the 'Lethal Zones' concept. Each zone is designed, engineered and placed according to their specific function. The SL rubber material is welded directly onto the hybrid-touch upper material, allowing for less layers and a better feel for the ball. Most noticeably, adidas have increased the surface area of the 'dribble', 'drive' and 'sweet-spot' zones.
The new Enlightened adidas Predator LZ boots are now available from selected online stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. What are your thoughts on the collection? Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
