Back in club training after the international break, Karim Benzema joined up with adidas co-star Gareth Bale at Real Madrid's training complex this week wearing what is expected to be the next generation adidas F50 adizero model.
While the eyes of the world were fixed firmly on Gareth Bale who joined up with his new Galactico team mates for the first time this week, Benzema's blacked-out boots were the center of our attention. The Real Madrid no.9 has been selected by adidas to test-drive their new speed model prior to their unconfirmed release date later this year.
A closer inspection of Benzema's boots give us some idea of what to expect from adidas. The three stripes have been redesigned and positioned on either side of the boot while the top of the tongue has also been re-shaped.
So with the pro-testing phase in motion, when can we expect an official launch? Well judging by previous adidas timelines, November might be your best bet. But will this be another case of evolution over revolution? The successful formula used on the first adizero model in 2010 has for the most part, stayed the same. This time though we're expecting bigger changes, in the shape of a sleeker profile and new upper materials.
How long before we see Gareth Bale testing the new adidas F50 adizero model?
Whatever adidas bring to the table, one thing is certain. Gareth Bale's profile as an F50 athlete will reach new heights this season. Already one of adidas' top global stars, the Welshman is sure to experience a very exciting season with his boot and club sponsors.
