With the international break in full swing, our attention turns to the feet of those on training duty across Europe and the rest of the world. One unlikely player who's caught our eye is England U21 midfielder Nick Powell, who has been spotted sporting a pair of black-out adidas Nitrocharge football boots.
A black-out Nitrocharge is one tasty looking beast and for many they're the ultimate boot. We saw numerous prototype editions earlier this year pior to the launch of the adidas Nitrocharge. Interestingly only now has Nick Powell decided to give them a go.
The Manchester United midfielder, who recently sealed a loan deal to Championship side Wigan, wore the adidas Predator LZ throughout his debut season with the Premier League champions before most recently moving into the F50 adizero. As he looks ahead to a new season with England and Wigan, Powell could be considering a switch in silo.
It's not known if Powell has an endorsement contract with adidas, but with the versatile midfielder tipped for big things with United and England, he would be a good prospect for the brand who want to add more English blood to their stable to combat Nike's strong-hold on the current England squad.
Dani Alves: The Barcelona defender wore a similar prototype pair earlier this year.
Earlier this year, adidas delivered prototype models of the Nitrocharge 1.0 to their lead athletes across Europe. We had exclusive hands-on access to Dani Alves's black-out prototypes when the full-back was on set for the filming of adidas' global commercial.
The England U21 team take on Moldova tonight in a European Championship qualifying match. We'll be keeping one eye on Powell to see if he steps out in his black-out Nitrocharge boots or opts for an official colourway.
