The adidas Predator LZ has been hooked up with a couple of fresh colorways and what you're looking at here is the new electricity/black/red paint job. If you're an American then soak it all in and start thinking about grabbing a pair. If you're European then have a good look, enjoy them, they're nice aren't they?
Want a pair? Well you can't have 'em. Unfortunately these boots won't be available in Europe, they're a US exclusive. Yep, there's a great big pond in the way if you're living in Europe and thought you'd just seen your new boots. The new electric color update definitely comes straight out of the same draw as the green launch color, it's another bright effort and they're sure to be a regular spot in the MLS.
A Beckham-less MLS has left the league wide open for new Predator stars to emerge and the likes of Seattle Sounders' DeAndre Yedlin, Sporting Kansas' Graham Zusi and NYRB's Tim Cahill have all earned call ups the to All Stars squad wearing the Pred.
For nearly two decades, adidas have crafted subtle evolutions of their original 1994 Predator while, for the most part, maintaining its unmistakable identity. But these days, the landscape of the adidas Predator looks slightly different, the famous black/red/white boots have been replaced with more extravagant looks and we're doing our best to embrace it.
Visually, the boot may be an opinion splitter but you can't argue with the technology the second generation Predator LZ incorporates. Each zone is designed, engineered and placed according to their specific function.
The SL rubber material is welded directly onto the hybridtouch upper material, allowing for less layers and a better feel for the ball. Most noticeably, adidas have increased the surface area of the 'dribble', 'drive' and 'sweet-spot' zones. Moves that were made on pro-players feedback and extensive lab testing.
The new Electricity/Black/Red Predator LZ boots land in the States this week and will be available from selected online stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer US. What do you think of the new colourway? Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
