A big week of boot releases continues with adidas making their next move by revealing a superlight version of their 11Pro football boots ahead of the season kicking off next month. The heritage boot silo has shed a few grams to take on a modern twist...

The 11Pro SL combines classic looks with modern innovation, the boots benefit from the natural ball feel of a premium K-leather vamp and the lightweight fit of an adidas SprintSkin lateral and medial quarter. Basically, the front of the boot is leather for a more quality feel of the ball whereas the back of the boot is made from a synthetic material to keep weight down to a minimum.





The new adidas11Pro SL tips the scales at a mere 180g making it 60g lighter than the standard versions. The forefoot and tongue of the adidas 11Pro SL is constructed from soft K-Leather, an upgrade from the Taurus leather used on the standard issues and features adidas' revolutionary single layer Sprintskin synthetic.





The adidas 11Pro SL features a 360 degree anatomically shaped support saddle that wraps the mid foot with functional welded adidas 3-stripes, which increases stability. With it's triangular stud shape, the adidas SprintFrame outsole has been geometrically engineered to give the 11Pro SL the perfect balance between lightness and stability.

The adidas 11Pro SL is always one of the coolest looking boot releases, the leather combined with the subtle SprintSkin details always look slick and the boot often sneaks past in a low key release due to the lack of on-pitch coverage on the professional scene. The new White/Chrome/Black drop is adidas' fourth colourway on the 11Pro SL and is the most vibrant yet with it's volt styled heel.





It's worth noting the 11Pro SL will set you back an extra £50 compared to the standard versions but it's another beautiful looking 11Pro SL release and what surely now must be one of the most underrated boot collections on the market. Lightweight, leather and top design, the 11Pro SL won't get much pro player support with adidas placing their players in the standard issues, but overall an unsung heritage boot fit for the modern game.
