Dani Alves has been one of the lead players for adidas' new Nitrocharge silo, he made the switch from the adizero from the word go, but on closer inspection of the Barca full back's boots we can see that there's more to them than meets the eye. He has replaced the normal Nitrocharge upper with that of the synthetic f50 to create a bespoke pair of boots designed to his exact specifications.



Right from the start Alves has been one of the faces of the Nitrocharge, he spoke to us about the new boot when we attended the filming of the official advert in Barcelona and he was noticeably impressed with the new design and how it benefited his game but clearly he wasn't completely satisfied as he has customised his boots to accommodate an f50 upper.

Before the boots came out Alves was testing a pair with the original upper but since then he has decided he prefers the feel of his old f50s and has asked adidas to hook him up with an f50/Nitrocharge love child.

Understandably players want to be as comfortable as possible on pitch and it takes time to realise how a boot performs for you, so Alves mixing up his boot sparks no issues with us. After all, a certain Leo Messi opts for a leather pair of f50s rather than the synthetic versions that hit the shelves. Most pros these days have some sort of personal customisation on their tools of the trade.

Alves had been playing in the f50 for a fair few seasons before the switch to Nitrocharge so perhaps it's understandable that he's grown accustomed to the synthetic upper. The Brazilian has kept the trademark Nitrocharge energy sling and all other aspects of the boot remain unchanged.
