The season may be over but adidas continue to churn out new colourways across their silos. With the attention firmly focused on the Nitrocharge and new Pred, the f50 has taken a bit of a back seat of late but not to be left out adidas have dropped a decent toned down Black/White/Infrared paint job on their speed boot...
Black speed boots are somewhat of a rarity in the market so when one does come along they prove to be popular. Not all players who want a lightweight boot necessarily want their boots dipped in a pot of citrus paint. Some players wear bright boots to try and stand out whereas others opt for a traditional stealth colourway and let their football do the talking, and it's the latter that will no doubt be happy to see this f50 colour update.
Karim Benzema gave us a sneak preview of the colourway in the new Real Madrid kit unveiling but this colour update is unlikely to get much on pitch time with adidas lacing up the majority of their f50 athletes in the bright infrared versions, which were released towards the end of last season.
The eighth colour update for the current f50 model and as pictured in our photography the boots will be made available in both a leather and synthetic upper material. The synthetic upper looks more stream line but it's the soft Goleo Calf leather versions that do it for us. We've seen the f50 plastered with all sorts of experimental colourways but it's back to basics with white and red details placed on a black back drop creating a boot that won't get everyone talking about it but will definitely reel in a few admirers.
The designers at adidas have come into questioning by boot fans over the new Pred launch colourway and while the boot has come in for criticism nobody can deny the buzz it's created, which adidas might see as a job well done. The new f50 drop restores the balance between creating a media frenzy and actually giving real players a boot they can wear without getting chopped in half.
The new Black/White/Infrared adidas F50 adizero football boots are available to pre-order now at selected online retailers including Pro-Direct Soccer. What do you think of the new f50 colourway? Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
