Two weeks since its launch and the new adidas Predator LZ has already created quite a storm. Arriving on the back of the outrageous launch colourway, adidas re-tune their dial to give us this more palatable black/green/white design. If you found the first a little hard to stomach, these might be more up your street.
For players who want to look understated rather than overrated, the latest Predator release could be the boots that make it into your new seasons kit bag. The new black/green/white colourway has been given some more classic treatment and is much easier on the eye - although there's still no escaping that green!
Predator favourites Nasri, Oscar and Kaka have already been spotted wearing the new Preds and with players such as Torres and Juan Mata set to wear them too, they're undoubtedly popular. It's just a shame David Beckham won't be around next season to add his trademark style to the model.
For nearly two decades, adidas have crafted subtle evolutions of their original 1994 Predator while, for the most part, maintaining its unmistakable identity. But these days, the landscape of the adidas Predator looks slightly different.
Since the adiPower Predator - a boot that received a hefty amount of fanfare - adidas have moved the Predator further away from its traditional mold. While the new Predator bears the same title as its predecessor, the latest LZ execution brings further quirks and twists in a remoulded package.nbsp;
Each zone is designed, engineered and placed according to their specific function. The SL rubber material is welded directly onto the hybridtouch upper material, allowing for less layers and a better feel for the ball. Most noticeably, adidas have increased the surface area of the 'dribble', 'drive' and 'sweet-spot' zones. Moves that were made on pro-players feedback and extensive lab testing.
The new Black/Green/White Predator LZ boots be hitting shelves this week at selected adidas stockists including Pro-Direct Soccer. What do you think of the new colourway? Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
