After making their arrival towards the tail end of last year, the new f50 adizero begins 2013 in eye-catching fashion with the release of the new Green Zest/White/Navy colourway. Every bit as striking as the Yellow/Black/Green launch colourway, these boots will rival the brightest of boots for on-pitch dominance.
The new Green Zest/White/Navy will be released in both synthetic and leather editions and is expected to be worn by f50 favourites including Gareth Bale, David Villa and Lukas Podolski. The boots use a dynamic green upper combined with blue tone used across the three-stripe branding and heel area. Take a look and let us know what you think.
We've already seen the visual impact of the Yellow/Black/Green adizero across Europe and we expect the new Green Zest/White/Navy colourway to deliver the same on-pitch presence. The f50 adizero has built a reputation for its stark colourways so we imagine it's always a challenge for adidas to reinvent new designs!
As we look ahead to 2013, it promises to be another fierce battle between Nike and adidas for the speed crown. Nike are expected to table their rival to the latest adizero generation in January as both boots go head-to-head in everyone's favourite boot battle. F50 fan or not, there's been no escaping the adizero phenomenon in recent years.
Adidas have re-energised their speed silo with an updated design that tackles new aesthetics above anything else. They offer a stronger design than the previous generation with symmetrical three-stripe branding positioned on the lateral and medial side of the boot along with a new f50 graphic towards the heel.
For the upper, adidas utilise a newly re-textured adiLite Twin material for the SprintSkin upper. The successful single-layer synthetic which reduces weight has been improved for added ball feel and touch. The interior Sprintweb offers increased lateral stability and support across the mid-foot, transferring the forces from the outsole to the upper.
The new Green Zest/White/Navy adidas f50 adizero football boots are available to pre-order from today (January 2nd) for a full retail launch on January 21st. Let us know what you think of the new design. Join the conversation online, on Twitter and on Facebook.
