Debuted by Leo Messi in pre-season, these are the latest leather versions to be released in the successful adidas F50 adizero miCoach range. Since first launch we've seen a host of exciting colourways, and the new Silver/Red versions are another eye-catching addition to the range...
We've seen quite an eclectic mix of colours for the most recent incarnation of the F50 football boots, but there's one colour to feature more prominently than any other and that's Red. Understandable when you consider your lead asset plays for Barcelona and happens to be one of the greatest players on the planet!
Reminiscent of the Chrome/Black/Warning versions released by adidas back in January 2011, it's been a while since we saw a Silver edition of the adizero (barring the women's version released in July 2011), so for many fans these could be a very welcome addition to the collection.
The new Silver/Infrared colourway will be available in both a leather and synthetic upper, but it's the leather that we find ourselves and Leo Messi are drawn to, with the Silver upper highlighting the quality of the Goleo Calf leather. The leather adizero's have been hugely successful, as for many boot fans the fit, touch and feel of natural leather is unrivalled.
Lightweight leather football boots are still in the ascendancy, with a greater number of pro's known to favour leather uppers. One thing that's made the adizero range stand-out, is the development of such a lightweight and fast leather football boot. The leather versions of the F50 adizero have been extremely popular with the pro's, citing Lionel Messi, David Silva, Ashley Young and Arjen Robben as just a few outstanding players who opt for the leather versions.
Since the adizero's inception, the Sprintframe out-sole has been the source of the boots' speed. A revolutionary one-piece chassis; thin, flexible and lightweight, the SprintFrame has if anything been improved by the addition of the miCoach chamber. Retaining the heel support and flexibility to the fore of the boot, the placement of the Speed Cell offers increased rigidity in an area of the out-sole you don't want to flex. To finish the out-sole, adidas have slightly modified the stud shape for a better boot-to-playing surface contact.
Three generations in and the adidas F50 adizero football boots are continuing to break the status quo of modern boot design. But the focus has shifted – as not only will the adizero perform on the pitch, but with the addition of miCoach technology has opened up a new dimension of individual performance analysis once the final whistle blows.
The new Silver/Infrared f50 adizero miCoach football boots are available to pre-order now from selected online stockists for a full launch on Sept 15. You can order your boots for around £150 GBP / €210 EURO / $200 USD or alternatively you can purchase the bundle including the miCoach Speed Cell for £200 GBP / €245 EURO / $270 USD.
