The adidas f50 adizero miCoach catalogue has become something to behold! No other boot boasts such a collection of vibrant colourways. For their latest trick, adidas re-introduce a lick of metallic paint to their headline speed boot – something we previously saw with the Chrome/Black/Warning adizero in 2011.
The new Silver/Infrared adizero boots have been given a Messi exclusive label. The Barca star currently has exclusive rights to the colourway until September 15 and is already showing off his new footwear in pre-season. Take a look and let us know what you think.
As Messi embarks on another scintillating season, expect an impressive goal-tally to be reached in these boots alone. We'll give Messi until the holiday season before he's already threatening the 30-goal mark! By that time we could be looking at a whole new adizero, with suggestions of a redesigned boot already in testing.
Messi has already been given the green-light by adidas to start wearing the boots. The Argentine is currently wearing the leather edition Silver/Infrared colourway in pre-season and will have exclusive rights to the boots until Sept 15. Following that, expect household adizero names including Gareth Bale, Lukas Podolski and David Silva to join the list.
Don't bank on Messi being the only player to wear this boot. For us, it's one of the best adizero colourways in recent months and could make a real splash across Europe. The adizero enjoyed a spectacular 11/12 season with the introduction of miCoach technology. Now we could possibly see adidas' second generation miCoach f50 before the new year!
Famous for bringing new technology and lightweight to the game, the f50 adizero has also become renowned for its catalogue of eccentric colourways that we've either come to love or hate! We don't think they'll be too much controversy around this latest release, with the adidas team having delivered a stand-out design.
When it comes to speed boot colourways, it's hard to please everyone. Recent adizero releases might not have been to everyone's taste, but we think adidas have really delivered with this metallic design. With Messi poised to give the boots a few months in the spotlight, we're predicting a strong reaction to this colourway.
The new Silver/Infrared f50 adizero miCoach football boots are available to pre-order now from selected online stockists for a full launch on Sept 15. You can order your boots for around £150 GBP / €210 EURO / $200 USD or alternatively you can purchase the bundle including the miCoach Speed Cell for £200 GBP / €245 EURO / $270 USD.
