With some of us still coming to terms with the release of the new Anodized Purple/Electricity adiZero football boots, adidas have gone and dropped another brightly coloured bombshell in the shape of the brand new Electricity/Purple adiZero Prime!
Adidas continue to take coloured boots to new heights with each release. Fans of more traditional boots be warned! For everyone else, enjoy your exclusive SoccerBible first look at the new Electricity/Purple adiZero Prime football boots.
The new Electricity/Purple adiZero soccer shoes have been designed with the intention of being worn by one man – Lionel Messi. After discussions with adidas today, we can confirm that Messi will be presented with the new boots over the coming days in time for the Champions League Final. Whether he agrees to wear the audacious colour-way is another matter though.
The world number one has previously turned down yellow boots due to possible Brazil relations being drawn. It was adidas' intention for Messi to wear the yellow/black adiZero's in the 2010 World Cup but the Argentine had the final say, resulting in the Chameleon boots being released. Come May 28th, It will be no surprise to see Messi in the Anodized Purple/Electricity boots over their Electric yellow sibling!
Adidas' plan to update Lionel Messi's footwear form the original launch boot is evident in the adiZero's two new colour-ways. Both the Anodized Purple/Electricity and Electricity/Purple boots offer Barcelona connections and would lend themselves well to the club colours. If Messi is to turn down the Electric boots, the leather Purple adiZero's are an adequate substitute for the Barca man!
Football boots simply don't come more outrageous than this! The new Electricity/Purple adiZero Prime soccer shoes use the same colour pallet as the Anodized Purple/Electricity boots. The same colours have been rotated to create one of the most noticeable boots of the year that certainly won't be camera shy!
The electric yellow colour used on the new adiZero Prime football boots is reminiscent of the Predator X Electricity that created headlines across the boot world. With the new adiLite Twin upper used on the worlds lightest soccer shoes, the Electricity/Purple adiZero football boots take that famous electric feel to a new level.
The adidas F50 adiZero football boots have revolutionised the game and the boots market. The all new adiZero Prime has taken performance to another level, weighing a stunning 145grams. Over the past twelve months we've seen a significant shift in the speed boots market, with the adiZero overpowering the Nike Mercurial series. The release of the adiZero Prime has seen adidas reclaim the crown of the lightest production football boot.
From the looks of things, adidas' attentions have now turned to claiming the colour-crown from Nike! The latest adiZero releases have made Nike's bright boots look relatively tame. Whereas Nike claim to use carefully considered colour combinations to improve on-pitch visibility, adidas look to be fusing together some of the most outrageous colours available! Its effectiveness however is open to debate.
The adiZero Primes advancement in performance and technology comes at a price though, with the Primes retailing worldwide for around £210 GBP/ $320 USD / €245 EURO / ¥27500 JPY. They will be available to pre-order this week prior to their official release on June 1st.
